A Little Piece of Camping Heaven
By: Amy Williams
There's no better place to take the family than a camping trip in one of the many campgrounds and sites located near Twin Lakes, California. The area is 13 miles southwest of Bridgeport, California, which is nestled along Highway 395.Nothing short of a geological masterpiece, this Eastern Sierra getaway boasts some of the sierra's most spectacular scenery. The Sawridge Mountain Range, which serves as a backdrop to the Twin Lakes, bares a close resemblance to the renowned geographic features found in Yosemite National Park.
Robinson Creek runs out of the Lower Twin Lake and meanders casually through each of the campgrounds along Twin Lakes Road. The creek facilitates great fishing and swimming, as well as serenity and refreshment for the overworked.
The sites are well maintained and marked by clean facilities and friendly camp hosts. Make early reservations for these campsites as the area attracts people as effectively as food plots attract deer, quail, and other wildlife. Fires are limited to campgrounds only and food requires proper overnight storage, as this is bear country.
Your visit here will be unforgettable and may even become a yearly pilgrimage for you and your family.
